By: Ariel Taranski

January is Self-Love Month, and there’s no better time than after the holidays to really focus on yourself. True self-care isn’t as simple as taking a bubble bath here and there, or journaling some thoughts. It’s all about showing yourself some compassion while drawing much needed boundaries around the things that take too much. Here are some ways you can celebrate this self-care month in the 901.

Connect with Nature

Even though the Memphis weather can’t make up its mind most days, it’s a good idea to get some sunshine (even if you have to bundle up). Explore one of our many parks and areas full of wildlife, greenery, and open space.

Explore New Media

Nothing beats a good book, album, or movie. Immersing yourself into new stories is a great way to take time out of your busy day for you. Here are some shops in the Bluff City where you can find books, movies, music, and more.
