The University of Memphis is making a major investment in the future of business education with the launch of a $90 million renovation and expansion of its Fogelman College of Business and Economics.
University leaders recently marked the start of the project with a ceremonial “wall-breaking,” signaling the beginning of a two-phase plan to modernize and grow the college’s footprint on campus.
The first phase includes $30 million in upgrades to existing facilities at the corner of Central Avenue and Patterson Street. A second phase will focus on building a new, third facility to further expand the college’s capacity and resources.
According to the university, the State of Tennessee has committed $25 million toward the initial renovation, while efforts are underway to secure the remaining $60 million through a mix of state support and private donor funding.
University officials say the project reflects a long-term commitment to strengthening business education in Memphis and preparing students to lead in a rapidly evolving global economy.
