The Memphis Grizzlies carried Memphis pride overseas this week, traveling across the Atlantic for a two-game regular-season series against the Orlando Magic as part of the NBA’s international slate.
The international matchup tipped off Thursday in Berlin, where the Grizzlies took part in the first NBA regular-season game ever played in Germany, falling to the Magic 118–111. The series continued Sunday in London, where Memphis responded with a strong 126–109 win, closing out the global trip on a high note.
For Memphis, the games marked more than just competition—they represented the city on a world stage, bringing the Grizzlies’ grit, energy, and culture to international audiences. The Berlin game also held special meaning for Magic players Tristan da Silva and brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner, who played in their home country.
“To have the Orlando Magic and the NBA play a regular-season game in our hometown of Berlin means everything to us,” the Wagner brothers said in a statement. “It’s a huge honor to represent Berlin and Germany and show how much the city and country love basketball.”
Off the court, the Grizzlies embraced the opportunity to showcase Memphis globally, connecting with fans abroad and representing the city throughout their travels in Berlin and London.
