About This Event

Join WYXR host (“Let’s Get Lost”) and Memphis jazz/R&B guitarist Joe Restivo and Stax Executive Director Jeff Kolath for a listening room session and discussion about drummer Chico Hamilton’s lone release on Stax Records, “The Master,” which features members of Little Feat as the rhythm section. Effortlessly blending swing, Latin, R&B, and avant-garde influences, “The Master” is further proof that even as Stax Records was on the verge of closing, the label was still releasing brilliant, original, and influential music. This event is FREE from 6-8pm in The SoundRoom at MLL.
