Memphis does not really do curated-and-precious vintage. What it does is volume, history, and a genuine chance of finding something nobody else has. A 40-year-old department store of a shop on Central. A multi-dealer maze on Summer. A flea market that takes over Liberty Park for a weekend and then vanishes. Here is how the scene actually breaks down.
The storefronts
Flashback Memphis | 2304 Central Ave, Midtown
Forty-plus years in and still the anchor. Clothing, furniture, and collectibles spanning the 1920s through the 80s, all under one roof, which is why locals describe it as a vintage department store rather than a shop. Monday through Saturday 10:30am to 5:30pm, Sunday 1pm to 5pm.
Second Kiss Vintage | 1559 Madison Ave, Suite 102, Minglewood Plaza
Small, bright, and heavy on clothing, jewelry, and home goods, with a recent Memphis Flyer Best Of nomination to show for it. Wednesday and Thursday 4pm to 8pm, Friday through Sunday noon to 5pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
Blue Suede Vintage | 486 N Hollywood St, Broad Avenue Arts District
Clothing, accessories, and home goods, plus periodic in-store archive sales that are worth following the shop for. Thursday through Sunday noon to 5pm, with Monday through Wednesday available by appointment.
Bad Timing | 626 Minor St, Crosstown and Highland area
The streetwear and sneaker corner of the scene. Buy, sell, trade, with worldwide shipping and an active DM counter. Tuesday through Saturday noon to 7pm.
Antique Warehouse Mall | 2563 Summer Ave
A large multi-dealer antique mall and a long-running fixture of the Summer Ave corridor. Booth pricing swings wide, which is the fun of it. Open Tuesday through Sunday.
Proveaux Vintage | 684 S Cox St, Midtown
Online-first vintage and costume, roughly $30 to $125 a piece, with limited in-person hours announced as they happen. Treat this one as a hybrid rather than a walk-in, and check before you drive over.
The recurring markets
Southern Flea Market | Liberty Park, 940 Early Maxwell Blvd
The big one, formerly the Memphis Flea Market. Two dollars to get in, a full weekend of vendors, Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 9am to 4pm. Three Memphis dates are confirmed: August 15 and 16, October 17 and 18, and November 21 and 22.
Memphis Vintage Market | Roving, 50-plus vendors
A one-day pop-up that moves around the city, recently rotating through Shelby Farms Park, Overton Square, Crosstown Concourse, and the Agricenter on a roughly monthly cadence. The next date has not been announced yet, so following the account is the only reliable way in.
Vintage Market Days of Metro Memphis
An upscale three-day market of antiques, art, and home decor that runs several times a year as part of a national touring brand. No dates are currently published and tickets are not on sale, so consider this one between cycles.
