Mark Wahlberg spent Tuesday inside a 32 story glass pyramid on the Mississippi River, which is a sentence only one city gets to write. He came to relaunch Wahlburgers Wild at Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid, still the only Wahlburgers on the planet built inside a Bass Pro Shops, and the only one with wild game on the menu.
It sits beside the 13 lanes at Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl, right in the middle of the indoor cypress swamp, and guests at Big Cypress Lodge can have it sent to the room. The kitchen runs on family recipes from Paul Wahlberg, the chef of the three brothers who opened their first shop in Hingham, Massachusetts in 2011 and now run more than 30 of them.
Wahlberg kept his own job description short. “Thankfully I’m not making the food,” he said. “It’s about sharing our family experience with other families, and I know that’s very relatable here.” Johnny Morris, the Bass Pro founder who turned an empty arena into a destination, was on hand for the relaunch.
