Majestic Grille Celebrates 20 Years in Downtown Memphis

The Majestic Grille is marking 20 years Downtown with a fresh look and a renewed commitment to Main Street. Owners Deni and Patrick Reilly just signed a new 10 year lease and added an Art Deco inspired sign to the space at 145 S. Main St., a building with a story as layered as Memphis itself, once home to a movie theater, a menswear shop, and even a spot where locals came to get fake IDs.

Along with the new sign, the Reillys have swapped out barstools, added upholstered chairs in the private dining areas, and brought in new plates and barware. The menu, though, stays mostly untouched. “It’s very hard for us to change our menu because most people know what they want to order before they walk through the door,” Reilly said. “We changed an appetizer one time, and I have an entire file of hate mail.”

The anniversary year will also bring digital storytelling features, supper club dinners, and nonprofit events. For the Reillys, staying Downtown was never really a question. “We really are committed to Memphis and committed to the success of Memphis, especially Downtown,” Reilly said.
