Students at Northeast Prep Academy have a new place to play. On Friday, Sept. 25, the Memphis Grizzlies unveiled their second Dream Court at the school, the latest stop in a series built to renovate basketball courts across Memphis.
This year’s court was built from scratch. It comes with new hoops, new benches, and hand-painted artwork by Memphis artist Siphne Sylve that makes the court feel like it belongs to the neighborhood. Along the baseline, a Martin Luther King Jr. quote reminds everyone who steps on it to keep moving.
The Dream Court Series launched in 2025, when the Bernal E. Smith Boys and Girls Club received the very first court. One year later, the series is back with a second build and a clear message: investing in the places where Memphis kids play is investing in Memphis kids.
Grizzlies representatives, school leaders, and community partners turned out for the ribbon-cutting to open the court to students.
