Memphis International Airport just got a new group steering its future. The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority announced its newly reconstituted Board of Commissioners this month, a nine-member body that took shape under Public Chapter No. 978 and became official on July 1.
The new board brings together decades of aviation, legal, and business experience: Belinda Anderson, Pamela Clary, Capt. Albert Glenn, Michael Keeney, David McKinney, Demar Roberts, Jack Sammons, Fayette County Mayor Rhea “Skip” Taylor, and Craig Weiss.
A few standouts in the group. Belinda Anderson started as a flight attendant for Republic Airlines and later ran the airline’s Memphis Worldclub, the space that would eventually become the Delta Skyclub, and spent seven years on the Tennessee Aeronautics Commission. Capt. Albert Glenn retired after 44 years flying for FedEx, rising through leadership roles including Chief Pilot and Managing Director of Global Operations, and was inducted into the Tennessee Aviation Hall of Fame in 2024. David McKinney leads Field Human Resources for AutoZone and has spent years on the University of Memphis Board of Trustees and the Memphis Crime Commission Business Roundtable. Jack Sammons, a former Memphis City Council member, now runs Ampro Industries and chairs Youth Programs, Inc., the charitable arm of the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
MSCAA President and CEO Terry Blue said the board’s “combined expertise in aviation, law, business, and finance will be instrumental” as the authority works to expand connectivity and grow the region’s economy.
That work matters at scale. Memphis International Airport ranks among the ten busiest cargo airports in the world, moved 4.8 million passengers in 2025, and drove $10.7 billion in annual economic output across Tennessee, according to a 2025 economic impact study.
