The University of Memphis men’s golf team is competing in the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, California, and they belong there. The Tigers tee off Friday, May 29, at 10:20 a.m. CST, marking the program’s first trip to nationals since 2012 and just their eighth appearance in program history.
Memphis is one of only three unranked schools in the field and one of five programs outside a Power Four conference. That makes this run even more impressive!
Leading the way is junior Diego Lourenco, who made history this season as the first Tiger to win the individual title at the American Conference Championship, finishing at 14-under-par. Juniors Yixiang Wang and sophomore Christian Morneau have been equally sharp all season.
The tournament runs through June 3, with Golf Channel picking up the final three rounds. Memphis is proving that great golf lives here!
