KIPP Memphis CEO Antonio Burt said the goal is a holistic experience for every student who walks through the doors. Board Chair Lin Johnson III said the swing-first approach fits a school that aims to tap into the many different forms a child’s genius can take.
KIPP Cordova Collegiate Elementary opens in August 2027 with kindergarten through second grade, then adds a grade each year to serve K-5. Shayla Morgan, a veteran educator whose career spans Memphis, Atlanta and Abu Dhabi, will lead the school as founding principal.
