A longtime warehouse in Cooper Young is coming down to make way for 22 new townhomes, the latest sign that private investment in one of Memphis’s most beloved neighborhoods is not slowing down.
Developer Cameron Ellis filed an application to replace the former Memphis Metal Manufacturing Co. warehouse with street-facing townhomes, each with a private drive, priced to be compatible with existing homes in the area. The project sits near Carlisle Development Co.’s proposed $137 million mixed-use development, The Cooper, which includes 275 multifamily units and more than 20 townhomes.
