A Memphis headquartered bank is about to show up on the front of Tennessee jerseys. First Horizon has extended its partnership with Tennessee Athletics and will become the program’s first ever jersey patch sponsor, a reported $120 million agreement over 10 years according to the Memphis Business Journal. The patch spans football plus volleyball, soccer, track and field, golf, tennis, cross country, swimming and diving, and rowing.
The deal extends a relationship that already runs more than three decades. Alongside the patch, First Horizon holds two premium venue entitlements, the First Horizon West Club at Neyland Stadium and the First Horizon MVP Club at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, and the agreement funds influencer marketing support meant to help student athletes build personal brands and professional networks while they compete. Vice chancellor and director of athletics Danny White framed the bank as a long standing partner, and head football coach Josh Heupel pointed to its steady local backing of the program.
For Memphis, the logo placement carries weight beyond Knoxville. First Horizon, led by chairman, president and CEO Bryan Jordan, operates from its Memphis headquarters with $84.4 billion in assets across 12 southern states, and every Saturday broadcast now puts a Memphis grown institution in front of a national audience. Jordan described the extension as an honor and pointed to the pride and tradition the university represents.
