Memphis International Airport continues to be a major force in the region’s economy, generating more than $10 billion in economic impact across Memphis and the state of Tennessee.
According to the Tennessee Association of Air Carrier Airports 2025 Economic Impact Study, the airport contributes approximately 67,000 jobs and $10.7 billion in total economic output. That includes $1.5 billion in government revenue and $1.9 billion driven by visitor spending.
The study, based on 2024 data, highlights the airport’s role not just locally, but as a key connector for commerce and travel throughout the Mid-South.
Airport leadership emphasized that Memphis International serves as a critical economic engine for the region—supporting job growth, tourism, and global connectivity.
The report comes at a time of continued momentum for the airport, with new nonstop flights recently announced to cities like Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Denver, alongside an ongoing $700 million modernization project aimed at enhancing the travel experience.
