Below are a few of the best Memphis campgrounds, just waiting to be discovered.

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park

Inspired by the eponymous cartoon, Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park is a family campground created to provide outdoor fun for the whole family. Conceived in 1969, these campgrounds feature mascots like Yogi and Boo Boo from the Hannah-Barbera cartoon, and they host dozens of captivating attractions to entertain attendees. With pedal bikes, jump pads, inflatable slides and more, Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park is a must-see campground for families looking to get away from the city and experience a whirlwind vacation.

Campus^, an Urban Oasis

Originally an Airbnb market experiment, Campus^ is an urban camping experience that mixes outdoor camping with the culture of downtown Memphis. Located on Carolina St. across from Wayne’s Candy Co., Campus^ allows visitors to relax in the great outdoors within walking distance of some of Memphis’ great downtown attractions. Hidden behind a large black gate and a grove of trees, Campus^ is invisible to all but those looking for it, meaning it’s just cut off enough from downtown Memphis to offer a reprieve from the hustle and bustle.

Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park

No matter what sort of camping experience you’re looking for, Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park can provide. A quintessential camping location, this park offers vacation cabin rentals, group campgrounds and 49 individual campsites with grills, tables and electric and water hookups. The Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park borders the Mississippi River and offers stunning views, kayaking adventures, hiking trails and more.
