A major investment in Memphis’ LGBTQ+ community is underway as OutMemphis announces plans for a new permanent headquarters in Midtown.
The organization, the longest-running LGBTQ+ nonprofit in Tennessee, is expanding its footprint in response to a sharp rise in demand for services. According to OutMemphis, requests for support have increased by 300% over the past five years—highlighting a growing need for accessible, affirming resources across the Mid-South.
The new 11,000-square-foot facility will be located on Cleveland Street between Poplar Avenue and Crosstown Concourse, placing it near the area where the organization first began its community work.
Designed as a centralized hub, the headquarters will offer housing support, health and wellness services, and expanded programming aimed at strengthening connection and care within the LGBTQ+ community.
“We’ve spent decades meeting our community wherever we could — from basements, bungalows and borrowed spaces — but the need has grown far beyond what those spaces can hold,” said Molly Quinn in a statement to Action News 5.
As Memphis continues to grow and evolve, this development reflects a broader commitment to creating spaces where all residents feel seen, supported, and at home.
