Looking for your next favorite spot? Memphis’ food scene is growing fast, with several new and soon-to-open restaurants bringing fresh flavors to the city. Here’s what’s on the horizon.
KUYA
📍 574 South Main Street
A new Filipino-owned snack bar and elevated bar concept is coming to South Main. KUYA—named after the Filipino term for “brother,” often used as a friendly way to address neighbors or strangers—aims to bring community together through food, music, and connection.
Owned by Shayne Diaz, the restaurant will offer Pan-Asian American–inspired, family-style dishes with a strong Filipino influence, plus a drink menu featuring beer, wine, sake, and craft cocktails.
KUYA has already made a splash at local pop-ups with favorites like ube mochi waffles and spam fried rice. The team is aiming for a December opening.
Fuego Vivo
📍 5110 Poplar Avenue
Replacing the former Carrabba’s Italian Grill in East Memphis, Fuego Vivo is a new Mexican steakhouse from the owners of Tekila Modern Mexican (Southaven) and Tekila Mexican Cuisine (Midtown).
Expect bold, upscale takes on Tekila favorites—think tomahawk steaks, ribeye burgers, fajitas, BBQ brisket sandwiches, and more.
BRIZA

Dinner options range from Pollo a la Brasa (Peruvian roasted chicken) to Shrimp A La Diabla, pan-roasted salmon, and more.
The Second Line
