When “The Gray Man” — based on a book by Memphis novelist Mark Greaney — made its screen and streaming debut last month, it earned one of Netflix’s top five launch weeks.
The Netflix film stars Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans and, with more than 88.5 million viewing hours over its first three days, it remained at No. 1 for the streaming service for a week. Already, producers have confirmed that the franchise will include a sequel, also starring Gosling, and a second spin-off film.
What does that mean for the Memphis author behind the source material?
For Greaney, the film’s debut was an addition to a few things he’s juggled this year, including two other book releases.
In February, the New York Times bestselling author released “Sierra Six,” as part of “The Gray Man” series. It details the back story of Court Gentry as Six, the junior member of a CIA action team.
