Hard Rock Hotels in serious talks to build a property on Beale Street

Serious discussions are underway that would see Hard Rock Hotels open a property right on Beale Street.

A zoning letter was filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development on April 28, indicating a plan to place a Hard Rock Hotel at 326 Beale Street. The filing names Hard Rock Hotels as the proposed tenant and Jerry Lee Lewis’ Cafe & Honky Tonk as the current tenant. The City of Memphis owns that property, as it does most of the land in the Beale Street entertainment district.

Memphis Tourism CEO Kevin Kane confirmed to MBJ that Hard Rock Hotels is currently in negotiations with the Downtown Memphis Commission (DMC).
