Memphis among the 30 most affordable metro areas in the U.S.

Affordability could be another draw Memphis-area employers can offer to recruit and retain employees.

According to a new analysis by The Business Journals of regional affordability data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, Memphis ranked No. 15 in overall affordability among the nation’s 100 largest metros. The No. 15 spot is shared with Louisville, Kentucky.

The Grind City had an overall affordability index of 89.6, making it 10% more affordable than the national average.
