The Jubilee Hummingbirds, founded in the 1940s by Clarence Johnson, are one of Memphis’s longest-running gospel groups. Known for their energetic jubilee singing style, the group has deep roots in gospel history—early members included future soul greats like James Carr and O.V. Wright. Today, under the leadership of William “Redd” Watson, the Hummingbirds carry forward their rich tradition with timeless passion and uplifting sound.

Elizabeth King, a powerhouse of Memphis sacred soul, has been performing since the 1960s. With her resonant contralto voice and unwavering devotion, she has led congregations, inspired audiences, and shared her message of faith and perseverance on gospel radio for decades.
