The University of Memphis’ High Water Records, which was founded in 1979, has been largely dormant for decades. BSMF, River Series returning this weekend (plus Gonerfest releases line-up)

Two of Memphis’ premiere live music events will be returning this weekend after two years of Covid-related cancellations. The Beale Street Music Fest will be held at the Fairgrounds due to ongoing construction at Tom Lee Park and hails an impressive line-up featuring Megan Thee Stallion, Weezer, Van Morrison, and many more. Meanwhile, the River Series will be returning to the Harbor Town Auditorium for three shows this spring featuring local rock stalwarts such as Jeremy Scott, Ibex Clone, and Mouserocket. Finally, Gonerfest released the initial line-up for their late-September festival including Shannon & the Clams, King Khan & BBQ Show, and Compulsive Gamblers.
