Premiere: Corey Lou – “INNW (If Not Now, When?)”

Corey Lou – “INNW (If Not Now, When?)”

What do Justin Timberlake and Corey Lou have in common? Well for one, they both love the Stax Music Academy. (Okay, sure, who doesn’t?) We’re excited to bring you SMA alumnus Corey Lou’s brand new video for his single “INNW (If Not Now, When)”!

Corey began his journey as an artist at 5 years old singing in gospel choirs, got his formal training at SMA, and has since performed at the likes of Carnegie Hall. “INNW” is his debut single.

“This song highlights how things are not too much different now than it was in 1968, how black lives are still being taken, and justice still has not been served specifically in the African American communities,” Corey Lou says. “Ain’t No Justice For The Brother’ is a phrase you’ll hear. It addresses what it’s like being a Black man In America and being told that kneeling or standing beside a Black Lives Matter Billboard is being too aggressive.”

“INNW” asks us when the world is going to change. The music video is directed by Jessica Adair and Corey Lou. Check it out and stay tuned for his full EP, What We Gone Do, coming soon!
